Study of the stumble

Stumbling. Mublsting. Bluksting.

A person stumbles at times. Over feet, a chair leg, words, or the rhythm of the day. Who has never stumbled into an appointment too late (or hungry)? Who has never given bad advice?

Missteps. Getting up. Falling flat. Sweeping back. Losing balance. Tumbling. Picking oneself up. Slipping. Staggering.

Salomé Mooij creates space for the stumble. She imitates it in order to get ahead of it. This is how she gets to understand it better, that stumble. That unpredictable balance breaker. She stumbles and wonders: what can we do with it? At what point does the stumble become interesting?

On February 1 and 2, Salomé stumbles at Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond in Amsterdam. Her Study of the Stumble/The Stumble Corner is part of the Festival Beyond the Black Box, a program of Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond, in collaboration with Platform 0090, C-Takt, and SoAP Maastricht.
