One winter night, the sky cracked open. And down poured: performances, images and sounds, Maastricht, SoAP, makers from far beyond, and an audience—fully present, deeply involved.
That’s how things went in 2016.
And in the years that followed.
And now again, as the days grow shortest, Winternights returns.

What’s happening this year?
Winternights unfolds on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 December, and it does so in and around the Lutheran Church (Hondstraat 14) in Maastricht.
Across the festival, 13 makers open up their work → New work. Emerging work. Cross-genre work. Work still in motion. Winternights invites you into the unfinished: the sketch, the process, the pause.
Entry to the programme is free. You’ll there find the 13 incomplete works, moments of gathering, a night filled with music, and two communal meals.
