Notes along a river (the first in a series of 5)
Tall, full, dark green conifer-like trees. Grass bright green with dabs of white (flowers). 5 to 7 people, seen from behind. One dressed in black, top to toe, with a crumpled red bag (?). Two white folding chairs. Beneath them: human legs (also white).
Between the trees, a narrow white rectangular plane, also carried by a person. At the base of the plane, two protrusions—resembling chair legs. Possibly an unusually tall throne. Then, similarly shaped (same dimensions, also white, also carried): an elongated pyramid, open in structure, 4 ribs. The bearer is dressed darkly, blending visually with the forest. Following the trees upward: a zigzag pattern of treetops. Some further-away tops stand out gray-brown against the saturated green of the foreground. Also gray-brown compared to the cloudy white sky.
Natural Contract Lab (NCL) connects with rivers. Over the coming months, the lab weaves an alliance with a river called Zenne in Dutch and Senne in French. They call it SZenne. Until September, they’re working with the river. On May 3, you can join a walk starting from Naast.
May 3 – Walking-with Naast – reconnecting with the humbleness of the source
June 7 – Walking-with Lot – anchoring in a territory where we can touch the river
June 14 – Walking-with Weerde – and meandering through its curves
