A railway guard bends forward. His nose touches yours. Breath. Asks for your train ticket.
– Too close, much too close.
A band is performing. You’re looking at long, lóng backs, some are broad as well. The backs hold up a bunch of smartphones. On their screens, you can still see a faint outline of the band’s formation.
– Too far (if not in meters, then by obstruction).
A love letter. Written by a nice person. Beautiful words. Funny. Sweet. But: the paper smells like Axe Cherry Fuzz.

What distances do we maintain from one another? Salomé Mooij measures it. Because measuring leads to certain knowledge. As in: when we know what distance lies between us, maybe we’ll also understand what we mean to each other. Whether we’re intimates or externals (or something in between.)
On March 13, you may attend Salomé’ s work called Proxemics. At 20.30, she will define distances in between people and spaces at CC Palethe in Pelt.
