NCL November

Essentially, us humans don’t differ much from the cucumber. Both consist of a certain percentage of solid stuff, but most is water.

We are watery beings.

Our grief behaves as wildly and gulpingly as the water in the Rhine that continues splashing for who-knows-how-long after a speedboat has rushed through it.

And our urge to build things level must surely find its origin in our cucumbery nature.

With Enchoiring With, Natural Contract Lab invites us to immerse ourselves in our own watery nature, opening up the possibility of a conversation with the river: a singing with the River Szenne. This takes place on Saturday 14 November. On the day, Caroline Daish (vocal archivist), Patricia Van Cutsem (singer-songwriter) and Tania Soubry (choreographic artist) will bring together a multispecies choir, giving voice to the interwoven sounds of humans, animals, microbes and the river itself.
