Under the title LAND, Le Citron Jaune (FR) has invited Rita Hoofwijk to create a work in a precarious area. In the south of France, a fragile nature reserve lies directly adjacent to a large industrial zone. A river flows between the two.
Day in and day out, the industrial zone releases a mix of pesticides, metals, organochlorines, and macroplastics into the environment. The ecosystem suffers, and nature is disrupted. Le Citron Jaune believes that thinking must be complemented with feeling and seeks a way to act collectively.
In the second week of January, Rita will visit the area in France for the first time. Her focus is on the perspective of the river that flows between these contrasting worlds. She wants to hear what the water has to say. Rhône, speak!
The LAND project is a European collaboration between Le Citron Jaune (FR), SYTEV (SK), Activate (UK), and Oerol (NL).
