Het Schuilatelier september

What hides behind the hiding human?
What constellations of dark clouds, patched together can compress themselves into a modern life, forcing us to pause, duck, seek shelter?
What makes us flee to basements, a caves, and bars?

And when is the hiding over? When is it, that one can emerges?

Salomé Mooij’s Het Schuilatelier (The Shelteratelier) is to be experienced at MMCA in Seoul as well as at the Gwangju Biennale in Korea this month. On September 2 and 3, you’re welcome for a one-on-one conversation about rest and ground at MMCA. Each desire for shelter gets transformed into in a miniature, a shelter maquette that is added to a growing collection of hiding places. From September 5 through September 13, the conversations will also take place at the Gwangju Biennale, where all the hiding places will be on display through November 15.
