And now the beginning is somewhere else

And now the beginning is somewhere else is an installation in progress. First in an arts center, then in a former factory, the NOON collective will work this month on transforming a space into a landscape—a landscape of foam, memory foam. The material lies, hangs, and swells. With every piece of foam added to the space, the experience of the landscape shifts. Time slows down, sound softens. The foaming of the space will undoubtedly influence the way humans relate to one another. Exactly how, is what NOON seeks to explore.

NOON is a collective of three creators: Delphine Mertens, Iris Donders, and Judith Dhondt. For the development of And now the beginning is somewhere else, they collaborate with ten other artists. The collective will reside at KAAP (Bruges) from January 6–10 and at the Pianofabriek (Brussels) from January 27–31.
