She’s sitting with her feet in the water. The river cheers. A thousand ships pass by. Is that a dog swimming?

What would it be like to have webbed toes? How much faster would one swim? She throws a pebble into the water. Mumbles, ponders. How do we do this in the best way? How do we build something that supports and inspires ideas? How do we share our knowledge: everything we have, know, and once knew?

Over het IJ stopped. It had to. And now, in May, Simone Hogendijk gazes out over the Maas. New concepts, new makers will rise, and for them, there will be a place. A place like the river, perhaps—wild and fluid. A confluence of many. A fresh force. But how? What form could it take? She sits with her feet in the water and the river, every now and then, brings ideas.
